Speaker Biography
Charlie is an internationally recognized biomass expert, prolific writer and speaker, whose leadership has helped drive biomass thermal energy sector growth. As Chairman of the Board, Biomass Thermal Energy Council, Charlie advocates on behalf of biomass fuel producers, distributors, supply chain companies and manufacturers who are association members.
Charlie serves as General Manager one of the sector’s leading manufacturers New England Wood Pellet, LLC, the largest manufacturer and distributor of clean, renewable wood pellet fuel in the Northeastern United States.
Prior to New England Wood Pellet, Charlie served as vice president for policy and land management with the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, responsible for all natural resource policy work and sustainably managing 50,000 acres of forest. He has served in management roles: partner, Innovative Natural Resource Solutions; executive director, NH Timberland Owners Association; and as a U.S. Forest Service research biologist. He received a bachelor's degree in forestry from the University of Vermont and a master's degree in forest biology from the Pennsylvania State University.
